New Young Adult Ministry at St. Peter’s

In collaboration with diocesan Vicar for Evangelization and the Young Adult Ministry Office, St. Peter’s has been chosen to serve as the “hub” or central location for a new experience of ministry for young Catholic adults in downtown and beyond. Beginning on October 4th, the Feast of St. Francis, six days of the week will offer a variety of social, spiritual, and service activities that will help connect young adults to our faith, to one another, and to help serve the needs of our community. Our ministry will follow this plan each week:

  • Sunday:   Mass @ 7:00PM in St. Peter Church (E. 17th and Superior).
  • Monday:  Mass @ 12:15PM in the church chapel.
  • Tuesday:  CSU Newman Night presentation @ 7:00PM in the Parish House (1533 E. 17th St.).
  • Wednesday: Bible Study @ 7:00PM in the Parish House.
  • Thursday:  Adoration and Reconciliation @ 7:00PM in St. Peter Church.
  • Friday:  Pray in your own way today!
  • Saturday:  Morning Service Projects.

This is a new beginning; as the ministry grows, we will continue to listen to your hopes and needs and find ways to address them, incorporating the best gifts our society offers while always remaining true to our Catholic faith.  Join us when you can “@7on17th”…and bring a friend or two!

St. Francis Day Blessing of the Animals

To honor St. Francis of Assisi, founder of the Franciscan Order, friend of all creatures and the patron saint of ecology, St. Peter’s Parish (1533 E. 17th St.) is hosting a traditional Blessing of the Animals at the church on Monday evening, October 4th at 7:00pm.  We will gather where best on property, depending on the weather and the size of the gather. Cider and “treats” will be available; donations will be accepted to support PAWS Ohio and their mission of caring for animals in need. All are welcome!
